end of module!

I was chatting with someone today from another uni who was getting frustrated with their ICT. They apparently want all lectures on audio-visual. This is a problem with physio where so much is practical and about learning the movements etc. I like the idea of students engaging with the tut or whatever on Moodle and then coming  to class prepared for a meaningful discussion. Not sure how you get that right if you have large numbers though.

Can't believe we have come to the end. I must say I am seriously exhausted and really looking forward to not having something constantly hanging over my head.

Best of luck to you all with the last tiny bit left over and hope to see everyone at graduation :)

  1. Hi Dianne. At our institution the lecturers are really challenged with the [exciting] implementation of SMARTboard- and E-beam technology. The aim is to broadcast from campus to campus and also from class room to classroom, in order to create activity and participation between campuses and students and of course to share expertise and knowledge amongst academic staff. The problems experienced in the beginning with the technology emphasized the importance of having proper support, orientation and training to manage trouble shooting duting these interactive sessions. Still, the opportunities to create excitement in the classroom (Charles C. Bonwell, Ph.D. 2000. Active Learning Workshops) can be complimented with the implementation of interactive on line teacing and e-learning sessions vastly !
Look at this quote - especially the date:
"One must learn by doing the thing, for though you think you know it-- you have no certainty until you try" (Sophocles, 5th c. B.C.)
